I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy. Alma 29:9

Where in the World is Elder Kyle Olsen?

Hartsville!

Yup thats the name of my new area, I am a Hartsville Elder now. The cool thing is that I'm still in the same zone (or stake). I didn't really move that far. Conway was about an hour East of Florence, well Hartsville is about an hour North East. But I am a District Leader and so far I'm doing pretty good. There's only two other Elders in our District, Elder Fugal (aka my mtc companion) and Elder Hendricks. But here's an awesome story for ya! So my new companion is Elder Harding, he just got finished with his training. Guess who trained him? Elder Cramer! So yeah, I'm now serving with my brother which is really awesome!

But the thing is, we got white washed into Hartsville. I guess the last two missionaries here didn't get along very well. One of them finished his mission and is home now. So now we have a lot of work to do. When we got here the Elders previous had two investigators who haven't been taught anything. So since wednsday we've been able to teach both of them and they should be coming to church on sunday. They are, Bryant and Matthew.

So I'm not to sure if i've told y'all about the letter concept that our mission has been piloting, but the ward here is on fire and wants to do it so badly! Actually the Stake President attends this ward and he is probably the most excited member about this concept in the entire mission. He said that even if the mission didn't do it that his stake would do it anyway because its such a great idea. We were able to have dinner with him and his family last night.

Now one of the greatest things about Hartsville so far is that the southern accent is a lot deeper here. Hopefully I will catch on quickly.

By the way there's a member here with a cherry red 1971 Stingray Corvette, I plan on getting my picture taken with that car.

So it's pretty funny, a few days ago we got a message from the Assistants saying that Elder Harding is the designated driver. Well, he thought they were playing a joke, because he got his license back in July and he's only driven the 40 hours to get his license. So I'm re-teaching him how to drive. So far we've almost gone off the road, gone 60 in a 45mph zone, and stopped in the middle of the road. He's doing much better today though. It's actually really funny.

By the way just to let you know, the member with the corvette has a cousin who is a dentist who probably will be able to fix my teeth for free. I figured I would just let you know that.

As for being a District Leader so far i've been able to do it. It's actually really easy and I new how to do it the whole time. Now we haven't had a district meeting yet, and I have to set up and conduct that, but I'll tell y'all how that goes next week.

The ward mission leader wasn't here on sunday so we had to sit in for PEC, and it was funny because Elder Harding and I have been trying really hard to meet everyone. So we got in there and the bishop introduced us to everyone, but we already new all of them. Actually we had already taught one of their friends (new investigator), had dinner with one, we went to a relief society meeting on accident, and one of them gave us a quick tour of the church. I tell you that because it just felt nice to be on top of things.

I realized how much stuff I had acquired in Conway, I could barely pack everything. I was scared that the zipper on the bag was going to rip because I crammed so much stuff into there. But I still got it all!

Anyways I got to go, these computers only allow me to use them for 30 minutes so I have to type quicker!

Love y'all!

Elder K. Olsen
