Elder Olsen is in South Carolina

Elder Olsen is in South Carolina
I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy. Alma 29:9

I'm a pro bowler

I'm a pro bowler.  Alright I'm not that great. But it wasn't the worst game that I've ever had before! I actually got three strikes and almost won the game. But then Elder Wilkinson got a strike and a spare on the last frame beating me by ten points. But we had a great time, I'm usually really excited if i can just get above 100 points. And i got 102 so that was awesome! Now that i think of it i had zero gutter balls!

(I'd asked Kyle information about the people in the pictures a few posts below)So just to let ya know who is who in the pictures. The first couple is the Bedke's, they had only been in the ward about three months but fed us almost every Sunday. They're extremely good cooks! The next family is the McDaniels, they're the ones who fed us on my birthday! They told me that I'm always welcomed back in their home. The next couple is the Tingens! Sis. Tingen got me into the choir and I loved it the entire time. Then Bro. Tingen is probably one of the best cooks I have ever met. He made steak, and wings, and tons of other good stuff. Last but not least is the Ince family. They were the ones who made it possible to talk to y'all on Mothers day, fun fact about the baby that is held in the picture. She would walk into church with her pacifier and her blankie and then she would put her blankie in her left hand so that she could shake my hand. It was awesome!

Now I have to say that this week had it's ups and downs. But the ups and downs were amazing! So my favorite person in the world right now is Holly! She's probably one of the coolest investigators I've ever met. She's practically a member already. So she only gets 3-4 hours of sleep before church starts so it's pretty rough but she loves church. Well yesterday morning she called us and... she was sick! But then Elder Cahoon told her she would be blessed if she just came to sacrament. So she totally did! Plus she went to one hour of Sunday School. She even received revelation from church that she needed to start studying more and coming up with more questions so that we have really effective meeting when we come over. She kind of reminds me of grandma smith because she's just super nice. She said she'd make us lunch. Here's what she's making, stuffed french toast with strawberry cream cheese and strawberries, with plates of bacon. Then she asked in a concerned way if that was alright. All i could do was laugh. I love all of these amazing experiences i get on a mission. I'm not perfect, but I'm blessed!

We weren't able to see the Jenkins this week sadly. They moved and we don't know where they went and we can't get in touch with them. It doesn't look good but we could really use some prayers from y'all for the Jenkins.

But to answer your question, yes we walk everywhere. Now the other missionaries have a car, so what we do is go with them to wal-mart and bowling and p-day stuff. But as for appointments and such, we walk.

Also I hope no one got too offended by the "no-mail" video. We were just having fun, because we act like that about mail if we don't get it every day which i know isn't going to happen. So just make sure everyone know that i don't cry myself to sleep when i don't get mail.

So I had a slightly embarassing moment the other day. So we went up to this black guy that Elder Cahoon knew who is a legitimate gangster. Well they had a really cool black guy shake and then i went to shake his hand and he didn't even look at me. Then he said, "nope you're the new guy." Well he was just joking around, then shook my hand. Well we talked for a bit then i thought he asked me if there were many black people where i live. I said, No. Not too many. Come to find out he actually asked me if i liked black people............ I quickly replied that i did.

So yeah, that's my life!

Love y'all and stuff!
Eldr K. Olsn
